Diane Beaded jewellery & art pieces

Diane, seated at her bench, assembling a piece of jewellery with pliers; in front of her, beads and threads, and all around, her floral creations and finished pieces on display.

“My art is a kind of therapy.”

For almost twenty years I have been making jewellery and art pieces out of beads, one thread and one glass seed at a time. It all began in 2006: a passion for the bead, which over the years became a workshop, a shop, and a way of living.

Rings, necklaces, crowns, brooches and beaded trees: every piece is shaped by hand, bead after bead, in my workshop. Nothing is ever reproduced identically. Each creation is one of a kind, conceived as a small sculpture to wear as much as a piece of jewellery.

My work draws on nature, on roots, branches and blossom, and on a certain idea of preciousness: the time spent, the right detail, the material respected. There is something soothing, almost meditative, in the patient gesture of weaving, and it is that serenity I like to slip into every object.

You will find me at the Village des Artisans d'Art du Septentrion, in Marcq-en-Barœul, on the edge of Lille: a former Flemish estate turned green haven, where time slows down a little.

I also love to pass things on. In my workshop I run jewellery-making courses, for beginners and experienced hands alike, adults and children: everyone leaves with a piece of their own, and often the urge to start again.

Sharing my world beyond the workshop matters to me too: I support the Mouvaux sewing school by lending my jewellery, and my creations accompanied the Miss Hauts-de-France 2024 pageant.
